LONDON -- Kell Systems today announced the launch of ComputerVault MiniTM, adding a compact, small-office solution to its world-leading range of Portable Server Environments. ComputerVault MiniTM, through a combination of extreme noise reduction and high thermal capacity, enables small businesses to deploy servers and network hardware directly in the office workspace, doing away with the need for a dedicated computer room. Its office-grade appearance blends seamlessly into any work space and it eliminates server noise to such an extent that it goes unnoticed in daily use, even when working close by.

Costing about one fifth of the cost to build a dedicated computer room, and with less than one tenth of the comparative running costs, it offers very real economic and space-saving opportunities for the small business user.

ComputerVault MiniTM is designed to house a complete small office IT installation comprised of one or two servers, plus storage, network hardware and peripheral devices. It accepts tower form factor servers or can be upgraded to accept rack form factor servers. It is delivered fully-built and can be deployed in minutes. Standard specification includes integrated IEC C13 power outlets (server power cables are supplied), it is fully-lockable and it comes with heavy duty castor-type wheels.

"With server manufacturers rapidly driving down power consumption and heat emissions, with onboard terabyte storage widely available and with virtualization becoming best practice, computer rooms are simply not needed anymore in many small offices," commented Kell Systems CEO, Tim Walsh. "Only a few years ago, it took an air-conditioned computer room with a couple of racks inside to provide IT service levels that can now be supplied by a couple of high-spec servers. He added “ComputerVault MiniTM lets small businesses reclaim that computer room space by moving their IT installation into the open office, eliminating all of the barriers such as server noise, security, power distribution and physical appearance, in a compact and elegant package that can even fit under a standard desk".
