SEATTLE -- Isilon Systems [NASDAQ: ISLN], the leader in clustered storage, today announced the release of its new IQ clustered storage systems, the X-Series, delivering unprecedented levels of performance, scalability and value required to power the next-generation, virtualized data center. Isilon's X-Series clustered storage systems deliver the industry's first and only storage system to scale to greater than 1.6 Petabytes of capacity and provide performance of 10 Gigabytes per second in a single file system and single volume - achieving 100X the scalability and 20X the performance of traditional SAN and NAS storage systems. Isilon today announced that more than 60 customers, including Arcis Corporation, Austin Radiological Association, Kodak Gallery, and PetroChina have already adopted Isilon's X-Series to gain instant access to critical business information while dramatically reducing the cost and complexity of managing storage growth.

Isilon also today announced it is working with Cisco, ColdWatt, Intel, Mellanox Technologies, Riverbed and VMware to ensure interoperability with its X-Series clustered storage systems. Interoperability between these leading solutions will help enable enterprise businesses to deploy end-to-end, next-generation, virtualized data centers.

"The enterprise data center is in the midst of a major transformation, fueled by the wide-spread deployment of high-speed networking and high-performance virtualized computing," said Sujal Patel, CEO, Isilon Systems. "The Isilon X-Series serves as an essential component of the next-generation data center, enabling enterprises to unlock the storage bottleneck and speed the entire data center value chain to achieve unprecedented levels of innovation and business agility."
