SAN FRANCISCO -- The Fibre Channel Industry
Association (FCIA) and the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA)
today announced an alliance aimed at collaborating on educational and
technical programs about Fibre Channel technology.

The two organizations have created a joint working group that will share and
market the latest advancements on Fibre Channel technology, such as port
virtualization; fabric application APIs; inter-fabric routing; and security
enhancements. This collaboration will include the development of educational
materials, events, and roadmaps for storage manufacturers, system
integrators, developers, industry professionals, and end users.

"As the FCIA continues to seek new ways to deliver increasing value to the
industry, it only seems natural to formalize an alliance with SNIA," said
Skip Jones, Chairman of FCIA. "Our collaborative work will benefit both
organizations as it will provide the most effective way to educate and
market to thousands of users within the storage networking arena."
