FCIA and SNIA team to evangelize the latest developments in fibre channel

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Fibre Channel IndustryAssociation (FCIA) and the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA)today announced an alliance aimed at collaborating on educational andtechnical programs about Fibre Channel technology.

The two organizations have created a joint working group that will share andmarket the latest advancements on Fibre Channel technology, such as portvirtualization; fabric application APIs; inter-fabric routing; and securityenhancements. This collaboration will include the development of educationalmaterials, events, and roadmaps for storage manufacturers, systemintegrators, developers, industry professionals, and end users.

"As the FCIA continues to seek new ways to deliver increasing value to theindustry, it only seems natural to formalize an alliance with SNIA," saidSkip Jones, Chairman of FCIA. "Our collaborative work will benefit bothorganizations as it will provide the most effective way to educate andmarket to thousands of users within the storage networking arena."
