KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- Devon IT, the fastest growing provider of thin client terminals and innovators of the SafeBook thin client notebook, today announced the Desktop Virtualization Lab (DVL) as part if its Server-Desktop Solution Center. The DVL is specifically dedicated to helping companies understand, test and implement virtualized desktop solutions.

“In the post-PC era companies from all industries are looking at ways to utilize virtualized and alternative desktop computing,” said Joe Makoid, President, Devon IT. “The DVL is specifically designed to help companies understand the new models that will dramatically change desktop computing.”

"The benefits of server-based desktops are compelling and well understood by businesses adopting desktop virtualization," said Dr. Tom Bradicich, IBM Fellow & Vice President, Systems Technology, System x and BladeCenter Servers. "This alternative to the traditional desktop PC provides increased security, centralized management, and adds operational flexibility to desktop computing. The variety of virtual desktop solutions, coupled with Devon IT's DVL, is a potent combination that makes it easy for IT managers to evaluate, assess, and ultimately implement their own virtualized desktop environments."
