OCEANPORT, N.J. -- CommVault (NASDAQ:CVLT) has enhanced its industry-leading position in heterogeneous and application data management including managing Microsoft data and applications with its new SimpanaTM 7.0 software suite. Built on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 platform, CommVault Simpana 7.0 delivers a uniquely singular approach to managing heterogeneous Windows, UNIX, Linux and NetWare systems environments with the addition of robust Search capabilities to Data Protection, Archive, Replication and Resource Management.

CommVault software delivers native 64-bit support for its CommServe™ and Media Agent systems along with supporting 64-bit server applications and clients, taking advantage of the inherent scalability benefits provided by the Windows 64-bit architectures. CommVault also adds support in its architecture for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 meta-data collection and for running its Unified Console on the Windows Vista operating system. Integration with Microsoft Windows Active Directory provides Single Sign-On (SSO) security-enhanced access and simplified User Group administration. In short, support for all of the latest Microsoft advanced platform capabilities ensures the highest level of scalability and performance for customers adopting the CommVault Simpana 7.0 software suite to manage data on any Microsoft platform.
