COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced its LightPulse(r) 4Gb/s LP1105-BU Host Bus Adapter (HBA) has been selected by Bull to provide SAN connectivity for the NovaScale family of blade servers. The Emulex LP1105-BU enables Bull customers to take advantage of the enterprise-class performance and reliability of Emulex Fibre Channel HBAs.

The Emulex LightPulse LP1105-BU HBA is a dual channel, high performance SAN connectivity solution designed for use within Bull NovaScale Blade Servers, and is driver compatible with Emulex's family of market-leading HBAs. The Emulex LP1105-BU also offers users the flexibility to leverage Emulex's centralized HBA management suite, HBAnyware(r). Emulex HBAnyware is client-server technology that enables the discovery and complete management of HBAs within the SAN, reducing total cost of ownership and planned downtime while enabling sophisticated management capabilities such as remote firmware upgrades from a single console anywhere in a SAN.

"Blade servers offer users a number of distinct benefits, including more efficient management, lower costs and reduced cabling requirements and we are confident our mutual customers will benefit from the reliability and robustness provided by Bull and Emulex."
