DALLAS -- Aspera Inc., software developer of industry-leading, bulk data transport technology, today announced they will be demonstrating their high-speed file transfer products at Storage Networking World (SNW). Aspera Enterprise Server for clustered storage builds upon Aspera's fasp 2.0 technology and delivers the first and only solution to address the critical challenges of effectively managing, storing, and transferring large data sets with maximum performance between business locations. Aspera’s fasp 2.0 technology platform is becoming the leading industry standard for high speed file transfer in scalable storage solutions, content delivery, and media management. fasp has been integrated into SNW Gold Sponsor Isilon System’s industry-leading clustered storage products, and will be demonstrated by Isilon and Aspera at SNW.

“In traditional data storage and management systems, moving data is typically limited to the capacity of an expensive single-head system and scaling performance requires replacing an already expensive system. In addition, the speed at which bulk data can be moved in, out, or between storage systems over the wide area is also limited and unpredictable with traditional TCP protocols such as FTP,” said Serban Simu, Aspera Co-Founder and Vice President Engineering. “Aspera and Isilon Systems have partnered to create a unique, industry-first, cluster-aware version of Aspera’s high-speed file transfer technology combined with Isilon’s IQ clustered storage system that maximizes file transfer speeds, regardless of network distance, and scales transfer performance by simply adding cluster nodes.”

Aspera’s fasp 2.0 software platform provides maximum speed, complete security, and breakthrough bandwidth control at global distances, including gigabit per second file transfer speeds over the WAN from clustered storage systems. The approach provides superior efficiency for transferring single large files, as well as large collections of files. The speed, combined with a unique adaptive rate control and enterprise-scale automation and bandwidth management over the internet and private IP networks, eliminates the fundamental problems of transferring huge data sets. Users have the unique ability to set file transfer speeds, file priority settings and finish times, to track their progress, optimize available bandwidth, and increase efficiency 100x or more over standard protocols like FTP.

NEW YORK -- Industrial Color, the leader in digital photo capture and online workflow software, today announced a technology partnership with Aspera Inc., the leader in high-speed file transfer technology. Under the terms of the agreement, Industrial Color will integrate Aspera's fasp™ high-speed file transfer technology into its GLOBALedit™ professional online image management and workflow software, dramatically improving the transfer speed of large image files between remote groups. Available in Q4 2007, the joint solution removes an important technical barrier and gives professional creative teams fast, global access to massive photo libraries.Professional photography is rapidly moving to a completely digital workflow in which photos are captured, edited, reviewed, approved and delivered digitally. GLOBALedit is a professional image management system that provides global online access to massive photo libraries along with a suite of workflow tools that allows users to review and collaborate with the images. This time-critical process has been plagued by delays due to the fact that these images are often very large files that need to travel long distances over a variety of network environments.

Creative companies and groups need to quickly move large files (and large collections of files) over long distances in a secure and reliable manner to increase efficiencies and compress time in the digital production process. “Content needs to be quickly and easily accessible. Customers want to get to work. They don’t want to have to wait for the files,” said Steve Kalalian, president of Industrial Color. “Industrial Color is very excited to be able to offer our customers the industry’s best high speed file transfer technology. We are confident that the removal of this major bottleneck will further stimulate the adoption of digital image workflow technology.”

Aspera's fasp™ high-performance data transfer technology dramatically speeds transfers over public and private IP networks. The approach achieves optimal bandwidth efficiency and control. With Aspera’s technology, file transfer times can be guaranteed, regardless of the distance of the endpoints or the dynamic conditions of the network. Complete security is built-in, including secure endpoint authentication, on-the-fly data encryption, and integrity verification.

“There is an obvious, natural synergy between our two companies,” said Michelle Munson, president and co-founder of Aspera. “By integrating Aspera’s high-speed file transfer technology directly into GLOBALedit’s best of class photo workflow tools, the photographer and creative team are freed up to focus on their jobs and creativity.”
