MILPITAS, Calif. -- Adaptec, Inc. (NasdaqGM:ADPT - News), a global leader in storage solutions, today announced it will showcase the speed, data protection and interoperability of its comprehensive suite of Unified Serial(TM) RAID controllers for PCI-X and PCI Express (PCIe) including 4- and 8-port low-profile models, as well as the industry's only 12- and 16-port designs, at the Intel Solutions Summit to be held March 18-20, 2007 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.

Intel's PCIe interface offers expanded capability and performance, making it an ideal choice for Adaptec's new Unified Serial RAID controllers. With Adaptec's complete family of PCIe controllers that are compatible with Intel serial motherboards, companies can quickly take advantage of solutions that enhance the performance of bandwidth intensive applications," said Nick Davison, Intel's North American channel director. "We look forward to continuing our relationship with Adaptec and working together to ensure mutually compatible solutions."

Adaptec, a silver sponsor at Intel's annual event that recognizes Intel Premium Provider partners, will be providing live demonstrations of its Unified Serial controllers, including the recently announced family of Unified Serial RAID controllers for the PCI Express (PCIe) interface. These unique controllers allow system builders and integrators to sell a wide range of solutions with a variety of price points, using a single storage architecture. Leveraging one Adaptec Unified Serial controller, solution providers have the unique ability to optimize cost-effective nearline storage using Serial ATA (SATA) drives or build high-end solutions that deliver maximum performance and reliability with Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) drives.

"Adaptec continues to lead the market in developing controllers that utilize a Unified Serial Architecture to give organizations the benefit of both SATA and SAS technology," said Gene Lee, corporate vice president at AIC/Xtore. "We are very excited to provide Adaptec with our XJ1100(TM) series XJ-SA26-110R-S SAS JBOD and SA1-SD(TM) series RSC-3ED2-SA1S-2 server enclosure as a part of their demonstrations. Our combined products will allow attendees to experience the high-performance capabilities that the combined solution offers."
