HAYWARD, Calif. -- Authenex, a leading provider of affordable and strong authentication e-security products, announced today that they have added Windows Smart Card compatibility to ACert(TM) Software, which enables A-Key(R) token users to securely generate and store digital certificates and key pairs for use with PKI-related activity -- such as digitally signed and encrypted email and PDF documents, single sign-on for Web sites, VPNs, etc.

Combined, these products enable the A-Key(R) token to support the same PC functionality that smart cards do to enable network log on, which gives an organization flexibility when considering a smart card-based solution.Authenex and the A-Key(R) token now provide the best price/performance in supporting Windows Smart Card Log On, without altering the existing Windows infrastructure.

"Why reinvent the wheel? Rather than replacing it, our solution works smoothly with Microsoft's existing GINA. This hardens the existing security features and their underlying authentication environment," says Anming Tseng, the Authenex Director of Engineering.
