Motorola Inc. has introduced a new line of handsets that the mobile phone manufacturer hopes will continue its momentum in the market.

The Schaumburg, Ill., company on Monday introduced the MotoRizr and MotoKrzr handsets, with the former more than a centimeter thinner than the popular MotoRazr.

The latter handset has been a key driver behind Motorola's success in the market. The company's mobile-phone shipments in the last four quarters increased an average of 52 percent, according to Strategy Analytics. The company is hoping to continue the momentum with the thinner MotoKrzr, which features a solid piece of glass on the front of the phone and a polished chrome body.

The MotoRizr diversifies the company's product line up by introducing a sliding cover rather than one that flips.

The MotoKrzr and MotoRizr are scheduled to ship in the second half of the year. Both phones include a 2.0 megapixel camera and video playback capabilities. The MotoKrzr also offers stereo Bluetooth audio.
