Intellisync, which has been trying to establish itself as a competitor in the always-on push e-mail arena, said Monday it has released a product that greatly simplifies pushing database-driven applications such as CRM and ERP to mobile devices.
The company said its Intellisync Mobile Suite software pushes data in real time to the devices of mobile workers much as its and Research In Motion's products push e-mail to those workers.. It said its product is faster and more flexible than getting information to mobile devices using older methods.
In a statement, the company claimed its approach cuts the time and expense of mobilizing enterprise applications. It said that the real-time updates can be pushed to users depending on a variety of circumstances such as need. The system works with both the Windows Mobile and Palm OS platforms as well as Windows laptops, according to the company. The company said the product also is scalable up to tens of thousands of users.
"Our customers now have a single source for extending virtually any enterprise application data -- databases, CRM, SFA, ERP, custom data and Web-based content -- to mobile devices," Bill Jones, Intellisync's vice president of product management, said in a statement.
