Brief: Strangeloop Targets .NET, Ajax Acceleration
Strangeloop Networks released an appliance this week to help enterprises accelerate Microsoft ASP.NET-based applications.
While application acceleration and WAN optimization is without a doubt a growing market, Strangeloop's appliance represents a true niche product--focusing on acceleration of ASP.Net/Ajax-written apps only.
Strangeloop claims it can improve ASP.NET application performance up to 80 percent by focusing specifically on performance-optimization techniques for that framework. Issues addressed include payload, roundtrip and browser-server compute time. The appliance runs inline between an enterprise's Web servers and load balancer, Strangeloop said.
