Boingo Hotspot Users Roam In Jets

Hotspot provider Boingo Wireless Wednesday said it has signed a roaming agreement with Connexion by Boeing to enable its users to access the latter company's in-flight Internet access.

Connexion, a business unit of Boeing, has agreements with a number of international airlines to provide in-flight access, primarily on long-haul flights. The service is already launched by Germany's Lufthansa and was also launched this week on some flights by Scandinavian Airlines System. Other airlines with agreements include Japan Airlines, Korean Air, China Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Asiana.

Boingo offers 13,000 hotspots worldwide. Connexion has similar agreements with other vendors, such as communications aggregator Infonet Services and Japan's NTT DoCoMo.
