SMC on Tuesday shipped its new EliteConnect Universal Wireless Access Point, an all-in-one enterprise-level WLAN access point that supports the 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g Wi-Fi standards.

Priced at $799, the new access point supports the Wi-Fi Protect Access (WPA) security protocol, features Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption up to 152-bits, and includes 802.1x authentication and dynamic key management, according to SMC.

Administrators can manage the access point through a Web or command line interface, or through SMC's own EliteView Management Software tool.
