Juniper Readies LAN Switches

Juniper Networks is preparing for a hurricane, only this one involves a line of switches for local area networks.Code-named Hurricane, the switches are expected to be announced by Juniper on Tuesday in New York City, where the company plans to push the borders of its SMB focus.

?It?s a range of Ethernet switches from wiring closet/branch office (to) modular data center-class products,? Zeus Kerravala, an analyst at The Yankee Group, told Network World in December.

Separately, today big networking brother Cisco Systems rolled out its Nexus 7000 product line of switches for corporate data centers. Also new to the market comes a LAN switch from ConSentry Networks.SiliconValley.com
