SMC Debuts Enterprise Workgroup Switch With Gigabit Uplinks

SMC has released a new enterprise workgroup switch with Gigabit uplink ports. The TigerStack IV 24-port 10/100 Stackable Managed Switch (SMC6224M) has 24 10/100 ports; two ports for easy CAT-5 cabled stacking that can, alternatively, be used as Gigabit uplink ports; and two combination Gigabit/SFP ports.

The switch has been designed for workgroup environments with growth potential and/or high bandwidth requirements. It can operate in a stack of up to 8 units with two Gigabit uplinks each, or, where more bandwidth is a greater concern, stacking ports can be converted to additional Gigabit uplink ports.

It includes security and traffic control features, including Access Control List (ACL), RADIUS and SSL support, and 4-queue QoS and VLAN support with GVRP, TACACS+, and IEEE 802.1w and 802.1s. Its management features include RMON and SNMPv2, with future upgradeability to SNMPv3.

The switch and its associated expansion modules and uplinks are available now at an MSRP of $399.99
