E-business standards consortium RosettaNet announced that AT&T, Nextel Communications, TeliaSonera and Vodafone joined the organization's Telecommunications Industry (TC) Council.

Nokia's Matti Heikkila, chairman of the TC Council, said the new members will contribute to the council's progress in lowering of operational costs for the telecom industry. Heikkila also expects initiatives of the council and its membership to drive business transformation through supply chain collaboration and support for RosettaNet e-business practices.

The council cited as an example of its progress the TC Order to Cash Milestone Program. The program is investigating order management processes between suppliers and network operators.

The RosettaNet TC was launched last year by BT, Cisco Systems, Deutsche Telekom, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia and Siemens.
