NetScout Systems Inc. has announced new software for its nGenius performance management solution that supports Cisco network analysis modules (NAMs).

The nGenius Integrator for Cisco NAMs provides support for multiple NAM network environments by integrating Cisco data in the nGenius Performance Manager. Users can remotely discover and configure Cisco NAMs anywhere on the network and integrate their data to create a more complete view of business services.

The Intregrator collects live and historical performance data from Cisco NAMs and combines it with application and response time measurements collected by nGenius probes and data from routers and switches to provide a consistent view of performance throughout the network. Real time data is then presented in custom reports or regularly-updated newspaper-style reports through the Web.

According to NetScout senior vice president of product operations Michael Szabados, the nGenius Integrator for Cisco NAMs provides a compelling solution for users with multiple NAM environments and a migration path for NetScout Real Time Monitor users. "NetScout is committed to supporting the entire NAM product line as an important source of network and application performance information," Szabados said in a statement. "This is a natural step in our CDM Strategy to unify the data and disciplines required for network and application performance management within our highly-scalable, full-featured nGenius Solution."
