New World Communications has announced that it has signed a deal with Global Crossing to deliver multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) IP VPN and international private leased circuit (IPLC) services to multinational enterprises in more than 500 cities in 50 countries.

Through the deal, the Hong Kong-based New World Communications (NWT) will use Global Crossing's MPLS-based IP network and its iMPLS service, an enhanced provider-interconnect solution that allows NWT to offer its regional customers a global MPLS-based IP VPN service reach with guaranteed performance service-level agreements (SLAs).

iMPLS enables the connection of Global Crossing's IP-based network with NWT's network that is equipped with a "packet-over-fiber" platform that supports convergence of voice, data and video.
