Finjan Rolls Out Security Appliance for SMBs
Protects networks against viruses, spam, and malicious and inappropriate content, while protecting organizations' sensitive information.
October 15, 2004
Finjan has announced a series of security appliances for small and medium-sized businesses designed to protect networks against viruses, spam, and malicious and inappropriate content, while protecting organizations' sensitive information, and allowing document-sharing in a secure environment.
The 1Box Series uses application-level behavior blocking technology to defend against known as well as unknown attacks as well as malicious content arriving via SSL/HTTPS encrypted content. Its application-level behavior blocking analyzes and identifies malicious behavior of files coming into the network by email or the web, and blocks them before they reach any computers. Additionally, it protects against unauthorized use of confidential documents.
The 1Box Series consists of three solutions that can be used on an integrated or stand-alone basis:
Internet 1Box, a security solution for web and email at the gateway and desktop, that provides protection against unknown or known attacks, and includes anti-virus, URL filtering and anti-spam engines.
SSL 1Box, which protects against threats arriving via SSL/HTTPS encrypted content as well as enforcing SSL certificates according to the corporate policies.
Documents 1Box, which provides protection against unauthorized use of confidential documents, and creates a secure environment for sharing documents within organizations and with partners or customers.
Until now, Finjan has focused on the enterprise security market, and with this series, is providing security products for SMBs. Shlomo Touboul, CEO and founder of Finjan Software, explained in a statement, "The increasingly sophisticated nature of today's security threats make security solutions a necessity for any business, large or smallSince SMBs typically have limited resources dedicated to IT, they require easy-to-use solutions that free them from security worries, enabling them to focus on their business."
