Thinking of attending Interop Las Vegas 2016 next spring? If you're looking for independent technical education, you won't find a better resource. But you'll want to show up early, because Monday and Tuesday of the conference week is when our instructors get down to the real nitty-gritty.

On May 2 and 3, Interop will be presenting its Workshops and Summit programs, providing long-form tutorials for IT pros. Some are full-day, multi-speaker overviews on emerging topics like Internet of Things and containers, or perennial challenges like IT leadership and cyber security. Others provide a deep dive with one of the industry's top independent experts on timely and useful subjects like OpenFlow, wireless LAN architecture, and cloud native applications.

The schedule is packed with new and exciting content for 2016, bringing back some of Interop's most popular speakers while introducing many new faces. Several tutorial sessions were sold out last year, so you'll want to register early to secure your spot.

Check out some highlights from the schedule so far:

The Future of Networking Summit
This brand-new two-day program, brought to you by Packet Pushers Ethan Banks and Greg Ferro, will examine the most relevant emerging networking technologies and their potential business and technical impact. In Ethan's own words, "We want the Future of Networking to address what you should care about as the endless parade of startups and new products clamor for your attention (and dollars). The idea is to understand what’s coming, think about it in the context of what your business needs, and make smart decisions right now in preparation. The decisions you make today will impact the decisions you are able to make tomorrow."

Dark Reading Cyber Security Summit
As an IT professional, you want to know more about the latest threats in cyber security and the emerging categories of security technology, without taking the lengthy course required for security specialists. This two-day will provide you with the essentials you need to understand the current IT security environment and how it affects the enterprise. Tim Wilson, editor of Dark Reading, heads a lineup of experts to inform you about each aspect of cyber security. You’ll get the basics on the latest trends in cyber defense and advice on how to evaluate your enterprise's potential vulnerabilities.

The Internet of Things Summit
This one-day seminar will delve into the real value behind the IoT hype, examining the ways enterprises can find business benefits from IoT initiatives and what's necessary to begin implementing them. Led by All Analytics editor Jim Connolly, the day's speakers will focus on the technologies and concepts that enable IoT-based applications, how driving intelligence out to the edge can optimize network performance, how to secure IoT data, and how the IoT can support data-driven decision making throughout the organization.

Interop will also be hosting several half-day Workshops given by some of the best instructors in technology, including:

That's just a sampling; there are many more tutorials still in development, and we'll be keeping you posted as they take shape. In the meantime, what are you doing with this year's leftover training budget? Put it to good use by registering for Interop.
