FalconStor Gets Certified
New FalconStor CDP virtual appliance for VMware virtual infrastructure achieves VMware certification
September 11, 2007
SAN FRANCISCO -- FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the market leader in disk-based data protection solutions, today announced that the FalconStor Continuous Data Protection (CDP) Virtual Appliance for VMware Virtual Infrastructure has been certified for use in virtual environments through the VMware Certified Virtual Appliance Program. This industry-first data protection solution will be publicly demonstrated at VMworld 2007 in the FalconStor booth # 1112 from September 11 to 13, 2007.
The FalconStor CDP Virtual Appliance for VMware Virtual Infrastructure is the first solution to provide complete data protection across both physical and virtual systems. Fully integrated with the VMware ESX server, the CDP Virtual Appliance enables continuous availability of the application server and its data across virtual and physical environments. This solution effectively eliminates backup windows and the need for mandatory restores to deliver true business continuity.
The CDP Virtual Appliance is easily deployed in under ten minutes -- simplifying integration and accelerating migration into VMware environments. It provides periodic and/or continuous data and system protection, incorporating features such as mirroring, snapshot, and database agents. The solution protects up to 16 physical servers or virtual machines and offers, as an added benefit, the option of a standby virtual machine on the same VMware ESX Server. Utilizing VMware virtualization technology, the CDP Virtual Appliance enables organizations to easily deploy FalconStor storage services using virtual servers – ensuring the continuous availability of mission-critical data, files, and even entire systems in the event of hardware or software failures or site-level disaster.
In addition to the certification of its CDP Virtual Appliance, FalconStor today announced partnerships with resellers Integrated Archive Solutions (IAS), the largest IT infrastructure integrator in the western US, and Magirus, one of the leading IT infrastructure and solution providers in Europe. As certified VMware providers, both IAS and Magirus are committed to offering innovative solutions to protect their clients’ data in virtual environments to minimize issues related to hardware failure. Both resellers chose to partner with FalconStor because of the company’s strong reseller program and innovation.
“FalconStor offers a compelling and unique technology for continuous data protection,” said Amy Rau, CEO, IAS. “Virtualization is a key focus for IAS, and we are continually looking to partners with technologies that help our customers solve real problems in their VMware environment and help differentiate us in the marketplace.”FalconStor Software Inc.
