Q1 Labs Forms Centre

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Q1 Labs, a leading network security management company, and the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, today announced the founding of an Information Security Center of Excellence. Co-funded by Q1 Labs and a Canadian government research grant, graduate students in the program are already working on research projects that will advance the current state of threat detection, attack simulation, correlation techniques, and network application discovery.

Under the direct leadership of Dr. Ali Ghorbani, professor and assistant dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, up to 12 graduate students will be dedicated to research initiatives that Dr. Ghorbani and Q1 Labs determine will advance the state of network security technology. The program will provide information security research opportunities for leading masters and doctoral researchers from Canada and across the world, thereby enhancing the security technology skill base of New Brunswick. Q1 Labs already employs over 40 technologists within New Brunswick.
