EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Compellent Technologies, a provider of affordable and modular enterprise storage solutions, today announced Krieg DeVault, a 130 year-old prominent commercial law firm, has selected Compellent's storage area network (SAN) to provide continuous data protection of its critical data. Compellent's modular design and intuitive Storage Center software have enabled Krieg DeVault, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, to dramatically reduce the time required to back up and recover its information and achieve significant cost savings.

With 15 practice areas and global clients in healthcare, government, intellectual property and banking industries, Krieg DeVault's lawyers require about 10 TB storage capacity to house and continuously protect thousands of case files, financial statements and other electronic data. The previous SAN was inefficient and costly to manage because administrators had to guess upfront their storage needs resulting in wasted and under-allocated capacity. Additionally, recovery of accidentally deleted data required 24 hours notice at minimum to retrieve backup tapes from a remote site.
