SAN FRANCISCO -- Atempo, Inc., a leading provider of cross-platform data protection and archiving solutions, today announced the company will provide a preview of Live Backup for Mac OS X, Atempos first offering of continuous data protection (CDP) technology for Mac users. Atempo will be showcasing the preview version of Live Backup this week at the Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco, Calif. from January 15-18.

The Live Backup sneak preview includes product demos of the Mac version of the continuous data protection software, and will be presented along with Atempo Time Navigator at Atempo’s booth #S-2627. The software offers an effective way for professionals who depend on Mac OS-based computers to protect high-value intellectual property, particularly for businesses in markets with a high proportion of Mac users, including education, media and entertainment, and creative design.

Atempo Live Backup delivers continuous data protection that automatically and continuously captures and tracks data modifications as they occur on any network-connected desktop or laptop. Live Backup conserves both network bandwidth and storage space, and works silently in the background, automatically backing up data wherever the computer is located, whether at corporate headquarters, a remote office or secured Internet connection. The software offers a wide range of recovery capabilities from self-serve file restoration of lost or accidentally deleted files to complete system recovery.

“Atempo has long seen the Mac user base as a valuable business market of professionals who depend on Mac computers to create high-value digital assets,” said Karim Toubba, VP of marketing for Atempo. “Unfortunately, many people who depend on MacBooks, MacMinis, Mac Pros or iMacs do not adequately protect the data stored on their computers, so there is a tremendous need for products like Live Backup to help Mac users preserve that vital intellectual property. This first look at Live Backup for Mac offers a preview of a seamless, effective way to implement effective backup practices for businesses with a high concentration of Mac users.”

Live Backup for Mac will be available in spring 2008.Atempo Inc.
