RedSiren has released a managed service for voice over IP (VoIP), designed to secure voice services converging within IT infrastructures.

The managed IP telephony service provides organizations with around-the-clock monitoring and incident management for VOIP installations, and also offers infrastructure assessment, system architecture design, implementation, change management, and reporting. The new offering, based on Cisco technology, is targeted at organizations that want to locate their IP telephony infrastructure on-site.

RedSiren officials claimed that converged data and voice networks brings new risks to enterprises that are not yet being adequately addressed.

"Users have demonstrated their willingness to incrementally sacrifice quality for mobility, as evidenced by cell phones and wireless, yet there is no flexibility or willingness to endure voice communication outages at their offices. The converged infrastructure must be protected and highly responsive," said Darwin Herdman, RedSiren's Chief Technology Officer in a statement.
