INDIANAPOLIS -- Stoneware, Inc.today announced the integration of Google Apps in their upcoming 5.3 release of webOS, due to ship in April of 2008. Stoneware's direct integration of Google Apps will deliver on their Virtual WebDesktop(TM) vision that presents Windows, web, and hosted applications in a single, ubiquitous web desktop interface.Organizations will have the ability to provide their remote and mobile users with seamless access to their Google applications alongside their existing corporate Windows and web applications.

"We see desktop virtualization from a web perspective," states Rick German, CEO of Stoneware. "As the number of web and hosted web applications grow within the enterprise, users will require a virtual desktop that can deliver all of their applications, not just Windows applications. SaaS (Software as a Service) providers, such as Google, who can significantly reduce an organization's Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), need to be tightly integrated with the rest of the corporate computing resources that are delivered to a mobile and remote workforce. Stoneware's webOS becomes the perfect web desktop virtualization platform for integrating applications and services while simplifying access for the end user."
