LAS VEGAS. SonicWALL, Inc., a leading secure network infrastructure company, announced April 27 at Interop the availability of its SonicWALL Email Security Virtual Appliance, providing one more deployment option for its powerful, easy-to-manage and highly scalable email security and anti-spam solutions. SonicWALL customers now have multiple options when it comes to deploying email security, including SonicWALL Email Security (SES) Appliances, server software deployed on a third-party Windows based server, and SonicWALL Email Security Virtual Appliances.
The release of the SonicWALL Email Security Virtual Appliance is in line with the company's recently announced plan to develop and sell a comprehensive line of security virtual appliances as part of its vision to deliver Dynamic Security for the Global Network. This announcement follows the introduction of SonicWALL ViewPoint Virtual Appliance and the SonicWALL Global Management System Virtual Appliances earlier this year.
As email-based security threats continue to evolve in complexity, sophistication and volume, businesses of all sizes are vulnerable to spam and virus attacks capable of crippling the corporate network and greatly reducing productivity and network performance. Using the technology in the most recent firmware release, the SonicWALL Email Security Virtual Appliance arms mid-to-large enterprises and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) with powerful email security and anti-spam capabilities in a virtualized environment. Businesses can more easily scale up or down their email security solution to meet their changing business needs. VARs and MSPs can utilize the multi-tenant capabilities to provide flexible services to multiple customers. Virtualization as a deployment option provides greater flexibility, scalability, and resiliency while providing an overall lower TCO.
"SonicWALL's Email Security solutions protect some of the world's largest companies from the waste of SPAM and the malware that SPAM distributes," said Patrick Sweeney, Vice President of Product Management, SonicWALL. "But businesses, MSPs, and VARs need more than just the most effective solution. They need the most cost effective and flexible deployment options, as many weigh how best to utilize resources internally, or whether to move to cloud-based infrastructures. Now, companies have all the options they need to stay competitive, and stay protected."
The SonicWALL Email Security Virtual Appliance is the latest addition to the company's expanding Security Virtual Appliance portfolio, which includes the SonicWALL Global Management System Virtual Appliance and ViewPoint Virtual Appliance announced last month. Future additions to the product line will include both SSL VPN low- and high-end virtual appliances. SonicWALL offers a complete line of virtual appliances that bring together the advantages of virtualization and hardened security appliances for customers. This line of SonicWALL virtual appliances helps end users to:
Reduce complexity, ease administration, consolidate resources, harden security, optimize performance and lower total cost of ownership (TCO)
Deliver direct exponential savings to large distributed enterprises by leveraging economies of scale
Increase MSP profitability through enhanced efficiencies
Increase options for multi-tenant based business models
Ease migration and minimize deployment costs
Enable resource consolidation to reduce costs by running multiple operating systems and applications on a single system
