LAS VEGAS -- NetEffect, the leader in high performance, low power Ethernet connectivity solutions, today announced it will showcase the low latency and high throughput of its latest 10Gb iWARP Ethernet adapter, the NE020, with low latency 10-Gigabit Ethernet switches from Fulcrum Microsystems.

The demonstration will highlight the NetEffect NE020 over CX4 in the Fulcrum Microsystems booth (#2353) at this years annual Interop. The event illustrates the high performance and low latency of NetEffect’s second-generation adapter solution as well as interoperability with Fulcrum’s low latency FocalPoint 10Gb Ethernet switch family, featuring its new ControlPoint management software.

NetEffect has led the industry in delivering adapters that fully implement the iWARP Ethernet standard. Created by the RDMA Consortium and ratified by the IETF, the iWARP extensions to Ethernet enable scalability to a level of performance that makes this industry standard technology an ideal solution as the single, unified networking fabric for data centers worldwide. Through the use of their unique Virtual Pipeline Architecture for iWARP Ethernet, NetEffect has enabled data center managers to achieve more than 10Gbps throughput and process more than 2 million packets per second, while keeping power consumption to less than 6 watts.

“As scale-out environments become more mainstream, the need to deliver low latency Ethernet data networking solutions is growing rapidly as more enterprises seek to converge their data, storage, and clustering networks onto a single unified fabric,” said Mike Zeile, Vice President of Marketing for Fulcrum Microsystems. “Addressing customer requirements for high performance, low latency Ethernet data networking solutions calls for collaboration between ecosystem partners, like NetEffect, to deliver innovative technologies that meet customer needs.”
