SAN JOSE, Calif. -- BlueArc Corporation, a market leader in scalable, high-performance network storage, today announced that its Titan 2000 family of storage systems has been certified for interoperability with CommVault Galaxy® Data Protection software, part of the CommVault Simpana™ 7.0 software suite. By deploying Titan 2000 storage solutions in combination with CommVault Galaxy Data Protection software, enterprise customers can streamline the management and protection of their data, reduce operating costs and increase availability of critical enterprise information.

Extending more than five years of cooperation between the two companies, the certification is the latest milestone since BlueArc joined the CommVault PartnerAdvantage™ program in 2001.

“BlueArc is a valuable member of the CommVault® partner network,” said Eric Rice, senior director of strategic alliances, CommVault. “The combination of Titan’s performance and scalability with CommVault Galaxy Data Protection software enables customers to reduce the administrative overhead of managing the backup and recovery of mission-critical data, thereby freeing up IT staff to focus on more strategic activities.”

BlueArc and CommVault bring powerful yet simple solutions to customers’ data protection challenges. The Titan 2000 family of storage solutions delivers world-record performance against multiple third-party benchmarks, and is capable of scaling to 512 terabytes in a single namespace. Its virtualization framework helps streamline storage consolidation. And, because CommVault Galaxy Data Protection software is built on a singular architecture, IT managers need only point and click on the software’s Unified Console to gain a holistic view of job status and all managed data.

“Interoperability between BlueArc’s Titan 2000 systems and CommVault Galaxy Data Protection software validates our strategy for delivering storage solutions that scale with the unique demands of customers’ business, while enabling next generation information management and protection,” said Steve Daheb, senior vice president, marketing and business development, BlueArc. “Together, BlueArc and CommVault help already stretched IT resources better address technical and business demands from system performance to compliance, while maximizing existing technology infrastructures.”BlueArc Corp.
