HAVANT, U.K. -- Xyratex Ltd. (NASDAQ:XRTX), a leading provider of enterprise class data storage subsystems and storage process technology, today announced that it has joined The Green Grid, a non-profit global consortium of companies dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems.

The Green Grid is a consortium of information technology companies and professionals seeking to lower the overall consumption of power in data centers around the globe. The organization is chartered to develop meaningful, platform-neutral standards, measurement methods, processes and new technologies to improve energy efficient performance of global data centers. The consortium offers educational materials to the general public, such as white papers with guidelines for energy efficient data centers.
