NORFOLK, Va. -- Wasabi Systems today announced the availability of its new VMX iSCSI SAN appliances: complete storage solutions that offer unprecedented performance, flexibility and scalability for the price. The enterprise level storage architecture of the VMX arrays combine affordable, high-capacity SATA drive technology with multiple GbE interfaces, making highly reliable, accelerated data access a reality for virtual systems. High speed, high reliability SAS drives are also available.

Delivering scalable storage capacity and a flexible SAN infrastructure, Wasabi VMX is designed to virtualize storage from the data path without imposing any performance penalties. The VMX 2000e is an entry level system that provides up to 12 TB of raw storage capacity and up to 220 MB/sec of sustained read and write operation and the VMX 2000sx offers further scalability of up to 60TB raw capacity and over 400MB/sec I/O performance. Both models utilize a 2U / 12 drive rack mounted chassis.

"We are very excited about what our VMX series means to virtual storage," said Frank G. Logan, Wasabi's President and CEO. "Our powerful appliances deliver best-in-class performance right out of the box, at a really remarkable price point. And it's low cost without compromise; our product line scales from 2 to 60 Terabytes of raw storage for less than $2.00 per GB average using our SATA-based systems."
