SAN DIEGO -- Verari Systems, developer of platform-independent blade-based computing and storage solutions, today announced that its BladeRack® 2 blade server platform and RM series of rackmount servers will now support AMD's new Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor. The latest AMD processors are an addition to Verari’s highly scalable systems designed to be upgradeable to the newest technology for enterprise customers seeking higher levels of performance-per-dollar and performance-per-watt.

“With its unrivaled power efficiency and computing density, our environmentally responsible architecture and patented Vertical Cooling Technology™ has been enabling the green data center for years,” said David B. Wright, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Verari Systems. “The addition of Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors to our line-up is providing our customers with the ability to increase overall performance while optimizing energy consumption.”

Built on AMD’s revolutionary Direct Connect Architecture which reduces bottlenecks inherent in traditional front-side bus architectures, AMD’s native quad-core processors can improve performance in the same socket and thermal envelopes as previous AMD Opteron processors to increase the productivity of servers without increasing power consumption. Integrated across Verari's broad, thermally efficient line of servers, customers benefit from reliable and scalable density, performance and capacity in an integrated solution.

“The combination of Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors and Verari’s industry-leading technology delivers a whole new level of value for customers seeking more powerful servers while continuing to focus on energy consumption in the data center,” said Randy Allen, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Server/Workstation Division, AMD (NYSE:AMD). “The dynamic power management and advanced performance-per-watt capabilities of Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors will enable Verari’s customers to realize the power of quad-core computing while continuing Verari’s strong history of developing eco-friendly solutions.”
