SAN DIEGO -- Verari Systems, developer of platform-independent blade-based computing and storage solutions, today announced the VerariIP consolidated desktop solution. Ideal for data-intensive environments requiring a rich user experience such as financial services and entertainment, VerariIP overcomes the graphical drawbacks of traditional thin client solutions.

Until now, IT administrators have been forced to install expensive, hot, power-hogging workstations under the desk, eliminating their ability to benefit from the inherent efficiencies and advantages of a rack- or blade-based data center model,” said David Driggers, CTO, Verari Systems. “VerariIP provides the desktop user with an ergonomically enhanced workspace, while maintaining the user experience.”

Verari has taken its success in high performance blade-based servers, such as the Verari BladeRack® 2 that offers unique power and cooling efficiencies, to the next level. By combining robust workstation blades with Teradici’s breakthrough PC-over-IP technology, up to 1920x1200 resolution DVI signals can be transported from the data center over an installed TCP/IP network directly to workstation or desktop PC users. The VerariIP solution supports quad-monitor displays, high quality video, audio, and multiple USB ports via a small “appliance” on the desktop, allowing the user to retain their existing experience without the heat and noise typically associated with locally installed workstations. The solution now extends Verari’s “green” data center initiative to encompass its customer’s entire Information Systems organization by helping to significantly reduce the overall corporate energy consumption both in and out of the data center.

“We have worked closely with Verari Systems to incorporate Teradici’s PC-over-IP technology in this innovative solution,” said Dan Cordingley, co-founder and CEO, Teradici Corporation. “The combination of Teradici’s break-through innovation in display compression and propagation over networks with Verari’s robust computing architecture is driving a true full-fidelity user experience from the data center to the desk with centralized efficiency.”
