NEW YORK -- Varonis Systems Inc., the foremost innovator and provider of comprehensive, actionable data governance solutions, today announced its DatAdvantage and DataPrivilege software is now available through the EMC Select program and will be offered by EMC and its partners.
As part of the EMC Select portfolio of products, Varonis software joins other best-in-class solutions that are part of a comprehensive information infrastructure. With Varonis DatAdvantage and DataPrivilege software, EMC customers can have total visibility and control over who has access to unstructured data on their network, helping to ensure that only the right users have access to the right data at all times.
“This agreement with Varonis enables EMC to offer a comprehensive data governance suite that complements our existing information infrastructure solutions,” said Justin Bartinoski, manager of the EMC Select program. “The inclusion of Varonis’ DatAdvantage and DataPrivilege solutions in the EMC Select program provides customers with a data governance solution to help them increase data protection, improve data access and audit data usage, while reducing the burden on IT.”
Data governance is the framework of people, permissions and processes that are employed in proper data use. By employing data governance solutions, enterprises can achieve:
Effective and scalable data access control
Increased and consistent data protection
Reduced cost and complexity for data control
Comprehensive and granular audit of data use
Varonis solutions offer comprehensive data governance over the volumes of unstructured data on enterprise file servers. DatAdvantage provides visibility and control over who has access to data and who should have access, as well as shows exactly how to restore permissions to folders so that access is warranted and commensurate with business need. Varonis ’ multi-tiered architecture, which can be implemented in under an hour, aggregates information from user directories and file servers regardless of number and physical location.
With DataPrivilege, Varonis offers the means to transition data entitlement management to data business owners, relieving IT burden and placing control and accountability where it belongs, with the people that have context for the data and its use. Without infrastructure changes or business disruption, DataPrivilege brings together data owners and users in a forum for communicating, authorizing and activating entitlements.
“With yearly data growth rates exceeding 50 percent for many enterprises, it is essential that businesses have a plan in place to not only control data but the costs associated with managing access,” said Yaki Faitelson, president, CEO and founder of Varonis. “Previously, data governance was focused too narrowly on either managing users or on understanding data. Varonis bridges that gap by providing business context. We are pleased to work with EMC to ensure more businesses can protect sensitive company information by establishing access permissions based on an employee’s business need.”
