Unified communications vendor Unison announced pricing and sales details for its Linux-based software. The Unison solution combines a PBX phone system, an e-mail server, an instant messaging server, contacts, and calendar into one server product and a desktop client. The unification of disparate parts combined with Unison's use of open source components allows the vendor to keep prices low enough to appeal to SMBs, according to Rurik Bradbury, the company's chief marketing officer. Bradbury also said that the solution scales from 20 to 1,000 users, and the PBX system competes with Nortel's and Cisco's.
The product is scheduled for release sometime in the third quarter. It will be priced at $50 per user per year, with a perpetual unlimited user license available at $36,000.ChannelWeb
