OTTAWA -- Third Brigade (www.thirdbrigade.com), a security software company specializing in host intrusion detection and prevention systems, today announced a technology alliance with Q1 Labs, a leading network security management company, in which Third Brigade’s product will be integrated with QRadar. This powerful combination provides correlative analysis, with prevention and shielding from attacks.

QRadar is a network security management platform that provides situational awareness and compliance support through the combination of flow-based network knowledge, security event correlation and asset-based vulnerability assessment. The Q1Labs network security management platform ties together log management/security information management (SIEM) and Network Behavior Analysis (NBA), as well dynamic features like identity tracking, to provide security threat and compliance monitoring to customers.

“With this integration, QRadar will have the ability to analyze, correlate and manage important, detailed host level vulnerability prevention and remediation information from Third Brigade’s host intrusion detection and prevention system,” said Sandy Bird, CTO of Q1 Labs. “These technologies are extremely complementary and provide common customers with an interoperable framework to better respond to security exploits and attacks.”

“Customers that have deployed a network security monitoring platform or are planning to invest in one are implementing host intrusion detection and prevention as a standard part of their proactive, defense-in-depth strategy,” said Brian O’Higgins, CTO of Third Brigade. “We’re pleased to integrate with a leader like Q1 Labs and look forward to working closely with them to deliver to customers our best-of-breed, complementary technologies.”
