And now, the numbers. We created 44 award categories in the seven core markets we cover--mobile and wireless, security, network and systems management, digital convergence, business applications, infrastructure, and storage and servers. In total, 128 products and services made it into the competition. In the following pages, you'll see that each one deserves your attention--if you're looking for tech products in any of our categories, consider these for your shortlist.

We chose a product of the year in each of our seven core markets. And no award contest would be complete without one overall winner. We tip our hats to Airespace's Wireless Enterprise Platform as 2004's most outstanding product of the year. Its affordable, elegantly designed appliance performed admirably in our tests. We think it has everything you could want in a secure, scalable and manageable WLAN system. For more on the Airespace system, see our Mobile and Wireless winners. Read on to get the lowdown on the other 43 products that stand out from the crowd.
