A new version of TeamQuest's Performance software offers improvements in scalability, statistical analysis and multisystem modeling. TeamQuest Performance 9.1 is aimed at helping users to predict performance when servers are added to horizontally scale a tiered network of servers.

According to the company, a number of new features are integrated into version 9.1. For example, there are new agents that collect various performance data on IBM DB2 UDB, WebSphere, and EMC. In addition, the software provides automated linear trend and short-term analysis capabilities, which help identify over-utilized servers. Such capabilities also let a site detect drift in variables at a very early stage and predict future behavior based on various statistical techniques. The product also offers centralized Web-based administration. The new interface lets users manage and administer all systems from a single console, letting users define policies to span several systems. The ability to easily predict the impact of horizontal scaling, i.e., adding servers to a tier has been added as well. The release also offers vertical scaling techniques.
