PALO ALTO, Calif. -- SteelEye Technology Inc., the leading provider of data protection and application availability products for Linux and Windows, today announced the expansion of its product set with the immediate availability of its high availability clustering, continuous data protection and disaster recovery solutions for IBM’s “all-in-one” System i business computing platform.

SteelEye’s product portfolio is now available to run within Linux-based partitions across the System i portfolio and on IBM System x and Bladecenter servers running the Windows operating system that are integrated with System i via iSCSI technology. In both environments, SteelEye’s products support configurations with i5/OS - System i’s flagship operating system -- providing virtual storage to the Linux and Windows environments.

“IBM is pleased to have SteelEye bring its product portfolio and data protection, disaster recovery expertise to the System i platform,” said Jim Herring, director IBM System i products. “Enterprise deployments of Linux and Windows on System i demand a robust systems environment as well as data and application protection and disaster recovery of business critical applications.”
