SAN FRANCISCO and LONDON -- The SCSI Trade Association (STA) and the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Europe announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to geographically expand the reach of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) technology and marketing information resources currently offered to members, end-users and reseller channels in the USA. Under the agreement, SNIA Europe will represent STA in the European, Middle East and African (EMEA) markets. In addition, SNIA Europe will receive and implement STAs future marketing plans and roadmaps. The agreement is effective immediately.

Harry Mason, Director of Industry Marketing, LSI Corporation and President of STA, commented, “STA has been working with SNIA Europe for the past three years and with SAS becoming an integral part of enterprise storage, it was time to formalize our co-marketing arrangement. SNIA Europe’s strong presence in EMEA will enormously help STA’s effort to reach that geographic area with the SAS message. With the support of SNIA Europe, STA looks forward to implementing a broad SAS marketing program in the EMEA region.”

“SAS is one of the most widely adopted disk interfaces today because of its unique combination of performance, scalability, and interoperability with SATA, “ said Kay Mushens, Marketing Chair at SNIA Europe. “ SNIA Europe is known for providing IT professionals with the best independent educational resources currently available. I am therefore thrilled that we now have such a strong link with the STA as this will give us even better access to the latest materials on SAS. “
