Seagate Technology launches Seagate EE25 Series hard disc drive

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. -- Seagate Technology (NYSE: STX - News) today extends its innovative portfolio of storage products built for extreme environments with the launch of the second-generation Seagate EE25 Series(TM) hard disc drive. The breakthrough 2.5-inch EE25.2 is designed for the growing digital storage needs of extreme environment applications, delivering up to 80 Gigabytes of reliable storage to the most hostile temperature, vibration, humidity, shock and altitude conditions. In addition, Seagate is bringing the market-leading SATA interface to extreme environment applications.

Increasingly, digital data for navigation, entertainment and productivity/control systems needs to be accessible on demand despite exposure to harsh environmental conditions. The EE25 Series drives support a wide range of such applications, including:

  • Entertainment, information and navigation systems for commercial aircraft, automobiles and marine vessels;

  • Ruggedized PCs;

  • Equipment exposed to a range of vibration and temperature extremes;

  • Commercial/industrial control systems; and

  • Mobile or remote CCTV systems.
