Riverbed appoints Klaus Seidl as vice president of sales for Central and Eastern Europe

MUNICH -- Riverbed Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:RVBD), the performance leader in wide-area data services (WDS), announced today the appointment of Klaus Seidl as vice president of sales, Central Europe. He will be responsible for the ongoing expansion of the companys sales structures in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe. In this capacity he will report directly to Marcus Chambers, Riverbed’s vice president for EMEA.

“With his extensive sector-specific expertise and experience in setting up sales structures and implementing indirect sales strategies, Mr. Seidl is the ideal candidate to further build Riverbed’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe,” commented Chambers.

Prior to joining Riverbed®, Seidl spent 10 years at Network Appliance, where he held a number of senior management posts and was responsible for setting up NetApp’s German sales organization. Most recently, he was NetApp’s sales director for Germany.

“Riverbed’s WDS solutions offer companies with distributed offices and mobile staff significant added value,” says Seidl. “The solutions enable companies to overcome the barriers to distributed application performance and regional, and even global, collaboration.
