PowerFileR simplifies archive and offers end-to-end solution with the introduction of Archive FacilitatorT

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- PowerFileR Inc., an innovator in archive appliances for long-term storage of digital content and assets, today introduced the Archive FacilitatorT, a turnkey appliance that simplifies archive by automatically discovering, classifying and moving fixed content to the Active Archive ApplianceT (A3), thereby freeing up capacity on expensive primary storage and significantly reducing backup burdens.
Unstructured data represents 70 percent of the information being stored on expensive primary storage and up to 80 percent of that data has not been accessed or modified in more than a year. As a result, organizations are increasingly turning to active archiving to better align data with storage based on business value. PowerFile's Archive Facilitator greatly simplifies archive by offering a non-disruptive approach for discovery of fixed content on primary storage that does not require installing agents and is fully integrated with NetAppR devices using File Policy (FPolicyT) mechanisms and EMCR CelerraR devices using the Celerra FileMover API.

Enterprise Scalability - scans and manages tens of terabytes per appliance and hundreds of terabytes per enterprise deployment
Application Certification - certified with anti-virus and backup software (McAfee, Norton, TrendMicro, CA, Veritas, Legato, Tivoli) to smoothly integrate with existing processes and avoid unintended recalls of archived data
