FREMONT, Calif. -- Panasas, Inc., the leader inparallel storage solutions for high-performance computing (HPC)environments, today announced Panasas DirectConnect10, a new 10 GigabitEthernet connectivity solution that increases the performance of PanasasActiveStor Parallel Storage Clusters by more than 50 percent. PanasasDirectConnect10 increases bandwidth from a single ActiveStor storage shelfto well in excess of 500MB/s. The Panasas DirectConnect10 option nowprovides customers the flexibility to connect Panasas Parallel StorageClusters directly into their 10GigE switching infrastructure, which willsignificantly improve time to results and accelerate product development.

Panasas is scheduled to exhibit the new 10GigE solution at theSupercomputing 2007 (SC07) show in Reno, where it will showcase performancein excess of 2 GB/s out of just four Panasas storage shelves. These shelvesare connected via Force10 S50 switches into 20 Linux-based servers fromPenguin Computing. Panasas is exhibiting at booth number 1037.

"We've been working closely with Panasas for many years to provide anintegrated 10 Gigabit Ethernet switching and storage solution to our jointcustomers, who care most about performance and reliability," said Eric Tom,vice president of corporate and business development at Force10 Networks."For HPC environments that need to maximize application performance anduptime, the combination of Panasas and Force10 provides an ideal solution."
