Packeteer Adds VP

Packeteer announced the appointment of Alan Menezes as vice president of marketing, reporting to president and CEO Dave Cote

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Packeteer (NASDAQ:PKTR - News), the global leader in WAN Application Optimization, today announced the appointment of Alan Menezes as vice president of marketing, reporting to president and CEO Dave Cote. In this position, Mr. Menezes will work with other Packeteer business and product executives to grow Packeteer's industry leadership and refine and execute the company's go-to-market intelligent application optimization strategy. Mr. Menezes joins Packeteer with over 25 years of marketing and product engineering experience, and for the past 10 years has served as vice president of marketing at companies including Wavion, Aperto Networks and AccessLan Communications.

Prior to joining Packeteer, Mr. Menezes served as corporate vice president of marketing and business development at Wavion where he lead the company's go-to-market and product strategies. He also drove tactical marketing programs and successfully initiated partnership activities in the Metro Wi-Fi market. Previously, he served as vice president of marketing for Aperto Networks and AccessLan Communications and has held senior management positions in marketing and engineering at Allied Telesyn International, OnStream Networks, 3Com Corporation and Nortel. Mr. Menezes holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada.
