Opnext Sets New Industry Milestone

TOKYO -- Opnext, Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of transmit and receive optical modules and components which enable high-speed telecommunications and data communications networks in high-performance optical components, today announced that the Company has shipped more than 250,000 10G transceivers. As an industry leader in 10G transceivers and above, Opnext offers a broad portfolio of products in the 10G family including 300-pin, XENPAK, X2, XPAK and XFP, encompassing all port types within these form factors. The Companys modules support SONET OC-192, SDH STM-64 and 10GbE protocols enabling long-reach terrestrial transmission, metropolitan area network, OADM, access, enterprise switching, high-speed data and storage communications. Opnext products will be on display at FOE 2007 (Fiber Optic Expo) in Tokyo, Japan, January 24-26, 2007 at Stand 6-5.
