May 22, 2007
LAS VEGAS -- OpenService, Inc., a leader in Enterprise Event Management (EEM), today announced wide-ranging enhancements to ThreatCenter and LogCenter, the company’s Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) products called “visionary” by the Gartner consulting firm. Version 4.5 of the products incorporate the new InfoCenter user interface which integrates access to all OpenService security and network monitoring solutions.
ThreatCenter and LogCenter enhancements include:
Customized correlation capabilities which enable organizations that have developed their own databases to store network events to analyze them with ThreatCenter
New LogCenter interface simplifies collecting custom data from any log file
Multiple collector improvements expand data collection from new technologies
New automated action capabilities implement a wider range of programmed threat responses
“These new features – plus many improvements to administrative and reporting tools – enable customers to achieve faster time-to-value with InfoCenter products,” said Mike Schmitt, OpenService President. “Network operators who are already storing events from multiple security devices in their own databases can now use OpenService solutions to gain more value from their integration efforts.”
Schmitt said that the combination of collector improvements and streamlined setup significantly extends the reach of OpenService SIEM products. “The ability to easily import, filter, and correlate event data from hundreds of devices attached to multiple security systems is what enables ThreatCenter to inform users about threats and trends that might not reach the alert threshold of any single device or security system.”
