FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Netezza, the global data warehouse appliance market leader, today announced that Healthcare Analytics, a unit of Wolters Kluwer Health, has selected the Netezza data warehouse appliance to provide on-demand analytics that can enhance delivery of key market data to pharmaceutical industry professionals. The Netezza data warehouse appliance replaces an existing Oracle data warehouse solution that was unable to keep pace with Wolters Kluwer Healths data requirement needs and increasing new business opportunities.

Among the challenges Wolters Kluwer Healthcare Analytics was experiencing with its previous data warehouse solution was an inability to complete large database queries in an acceptable timeframe, increasing maintenance fees and the need to hire more database administrators to fine-tune the system to achieve tangible results.

“It became clear that we needed to make a change. Our existing solution was not keeping up with our growing business demands, nor was it putting us in a position to accommodate new business,” said Emory Heisler, VP, Global Information Technology Services, Wolters Kluwer Health. “We needed to break the cycle of more data, more requirements, more money and the answer was Netezza.”
