Moonwalk Software unveils industry's first universal file area network

MILTON, Australia -- Moonwalk Inc., the Australian developer of all-inclusive data management and protection software, today announced Moonwalks Universal File Area Network (FAN). Moonwalk's FAN boasts support for all major existing hardware and operating systems platforms, immediately improving enterprise data management and migration across heterogeneous environments throughout a global unified namespace.

The Taneja Group defines a File Area Network as a systematic approach to organizing the various file-related technologies in the enterprise, such as storage devices, namespaces, file data optimization and file optimization services. The goal of a FAN is to provide IT managers with a scalable flexible and intelligent platform for the cost-effective delivery of enterprise information file information and a much higher level of file control. Moonwalk achieves all of the FAN objectives with an enterprise data management system that allows companies to minimize storage expenditures while maximizing their existing storage infrastructure.

Moonwalk provides universal FAN support with a vendor-agnostic hardware-independent design that runs on all major OS platforms, including Window, UNIX, Linux and Netware.
